Nobility; a son of Wawrzyniec.

Education

He studied at the Cracow Academy, in 1755 he earned his bachelor’s degree, in 1759 – master’s degree in liberal arts and doctoral degree in philosophy.

Work

He taught pronunciation at a college ran by canons regular in Cracow, it was at this school’s request that he wrote a rhetoric textbook (1765). After 1767, he moved to Lviv. He translated a French work by Ch. Rollin. It was published as a separate work in 1769 (with fragments published in “Monitor” [“Monitor”], 1767, issues 84–88). He wrote the first Polish grammar book in Polish at the request of the Polish Literary Society (the manuscript of this work is kept at the National Ossoliński Institute), its amended version was published in print in 1770.
